Located in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, Wainfleet All Saints is a perfect little English countryside town. Its quaint streets and buildings give the town an air of old-fashioned charm. Although small, there are lots of interesting places to explore within the town and its charming surroundings. Here is a tour of Wainfleet All Saints’ most popular places:
Hiram’s Walk is a delightful nature trail located on the outskirts of the town. It’s named after Hiram Chase, a local farmer who used to travel around the area selling his produce. The walk takes you across country fields and woodlands, giving visitors fantastic views of the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. It also passes through several wetlands, offering wildlife spotting opportunities too!
The Church of St Mary Magdalene dates back to at least 12th century and has historic links with Queen Elizabeth I. The churchyard contains monuments dating back to Saxon times, making it an interesting place to explore for history buffs! Inside the church you can find some fascinating stained glass windows and other decorative features.
Pumpkin Jack’s farm park is one of Wainfleet All Saints’ most visited attractions. Families flock here during school holidays for a fun-filled day out. From animal feeding sessions to hay rides and zip lines, there’s something for everyone! There's also a restaurant serving traditional home made food if you get peckish during your visit.
The picturesque Wainfleet Quay lies on the banks of the River Steeping and offers plenty of activities for watersports enthusiasts! There are rowing boats available to hire, as well as kayaks, paddle boards and sailing boats. Those who prefer to stay on dry land can enjoy relaxing riverside walks or picnic spots amongst the trees along the quay side.
Last but not least on our tour is Chapman’s Fish & Chip Restaurant – an iconic eatery in Wainfleet All Saints that must be sampled when visiting this quaint Lincolnshire town! With vinegary chips and freshly caught fish, Chapman's restaurant serves up delicious meals at very reasonable prices – it’s definitely worth queuing up for!
